    Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

    As an Accountant, you will assist on various areas to include but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, G/L account reconciliation, general ledger activity, and month-end closing. You will collaborate closely with the other Accounting members, Contracts, and Program Managers to ensure the accuracy and completeness of entries hitting the general ledger and sub-ledger.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with A/P invoice entry & record payments.
    • Ensure that proper documentation exists prior to processing vouchers.
    • Assist with cash receipts processing.
    • Assist with A/R billing and coordinating invoicing with project managers.
    • Assist with monthly G/L account reconciliation.
    • Assist with month-end closing activities.
    • Ability to handle A/P, A/R inquiries and follow through to completion.
    • Resolve accounting discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data.
    • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

    Qualifications To Be Successful In The Role

    • Must hold a bachelor's degree in accounting.
    • Must have at least 3 years of experience in accounting.
    • Intermediate skill with Excel.
    • Prefer to have experience with an enterprise resource planning accounting system.
    • Prefer to have experience with government contract/project accounting.
    • Possesses analytical thinking skills and must have keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently, pro-actively and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Proficient in MS Office Applications and has advanced MS Office Excel skills; Possesses deep understanding and knowledge of accounting systems.
