- Prepare, and develop drawings, models, specifications, reports, and other documents relating to the design. Collaborate closely, where appropriate, with members of the external design team and other associated organizations or companies.
- Proactively checks and coordinates project documents (including but not limited to multi-disciplinary drawings, design reports, technical specifications, etc.) and ensures they meet Client requirements and Industry Standards.
- Takes ownership of the preparation of discipline drawings for submission to the Statutory Authorities. Developed knowledge of local & international codes, regulations, and submission requirements.
- Sets the overall strategy for producing the documents and identifies the sheets planned for each stage of the work.
- Implementing SID 'Safety in Design' principles throughout the design process and ensuring ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Structure throughout projects.
- Mentors and advises the work of less experienced staff, and participates in professional development reviews and 'Lessons Learned' sessions.
- Demonstrating exceptional coordination skills between all disciplines and conducting workshops for drafting and designing teams.
- Providing design/modeling/drafting tasks to junior staff to work from.
- Responsible for Revit clash detection and multidisciplinary checks.
- Managing junior drafters and designers that are performing tasks on assigned projects.
- Ensuring the quality of deliverables is of the highest standard possible and as per GHD Standards.
- Manage the preparation of technical deliverables in the form of Building Information Models, sketches, or from design information according to established standards and procedures.
- Responsible for the implementation of good BIM practices and culture with the UAE team
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, license a plus.
- 8 years experience working on Medium to Large Scale Projects
- Extensive experience from concept through to construction, across a range of project types including residential, commercial, hospitality, medical, leisure, education, and high-rise developments. Previous site experience would be beneficial.
- Proficiency in Revit, 3D rendering software utilizing a Revit or Sketchup is a requirement,
- Middle East experience and working knowledge of design and construction practices specific to this region.
