- Develop, implement, and continuously improve enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across the organization.
- Establish data classification, data lifecycle, and data retention standards.
- Oversee data quality management initiatives, including data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness.
- Work with business and technical teams to resolve data quality issues and root causes.
- Define and monitor data quality KPIs and dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., Data Privacy Act of 2012, GDPR if applicable, internal audit standards).
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams on data privacy, security, and audit requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to data management and governance.
- Collaborate with business units to embed data governance practices into daily operations.
- Act as a key liaison between business, IT, and analytics teams.
- Lead data governance councils or working groups.
- Support data analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives by ensuring trusted, well-governed data.
- Guide teams on proper data usage, access, and sharing.
- Promote data literacy and governance awareness across the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Data Analytics, or related field
- Master's degree is an advantage
- 5–8 years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or related roles
- Proven experience implementing data governance frameworks or programs
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (IT, Compliance, Operations, Analytics)
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and master data concepts
- Familiarity with data privacy and regulatory requirements
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with data governance or data management tools is a plus
- DAMA-CDMP
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified Data Management Professional
- Privacy-related certifications (e.g., DPO training)
- Improved data quality scores and reduced data issues
- Compliance with data privacy and regulatory requirements
