    Role Overview

    The Head of Service Delivery will lead and oversee the end-to-end delivery of software development, enhancement, and maintenance services for global clients. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality, on-time, and profitable delivery across all client engagements.

    The ideal candidate must have started their career as a Software Engineer or Software Developer and progressed into senior leadership roles managing large-scale service delivery teams. This technical foundation is critical to effectively drive delivery excellence, solution quality, and client satisfaction.

    This leader will own delivery strategy, execution governance, client success, operational efficiency, and team performance across multiple accounts and programs.

    Key Responsibilities

    Delivery Leadership & Execution

    • Own end-to-end service delivery for all software development, enhancement, and maintenance engagements
    • Ensure delivery excellence across multiple projects, programs, and client portfolios
    • Drive on-time, high-quality, and within-budget delivery aligned with client expectations
    • Establish delivery governance, frameworks, standards, and best practices

    Client Management & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Act as executive point of contact for key client stakeholders
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure long-term partnerships
    • Drive client satisfaction, retention, and account growth
    • Participate in client reviews, escalation management, and strategic planning

    Technical and Delivery Oversight

    • Provide technical oversight leveraging prior software engineering experience
    • Guide architecture discussions, solution feasibility, and engineering quality standards
    • Ensure adoption of modern development practices (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, cloud, etc.)
    • Support delivery teams in resolving complex technical and delivery challenges

    Team Leadership & Organizational Development

    • Lead and scale high-performing delivery teams including Delivery Managers, Engineering Managers, Project Managers, and Engineering teams
    • Drive performance management, mentoring, and leadership development
    • Build delivery capability, competency frameworks, and succession planning

    Operational Excellence & Governance

    • Define and track key delivery metrics such as SLA adherence, utilization, quality, productivity, and client satisfaction
    • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery efficiency
    • Ensure risk management, issue resolution, and escalation handling

    Financial & Business Accountability

    • Own delivery P&L, margins, and operational efficiency
    • Drive cost optimization, utilization, and profitability
    • Support business growth through delivery excellence and client expansion

    Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
    • Must have started career as a Software Engineer / Software Developer
    • 15+ years of experience in IT services and software development environments
    • 5+ years in senior delivery leadership roles such as Head of Delivery, VP Service Delivery, Delivery Director, or similar
    • Proven experience managing end-to-end software development service delivery for enterprise clients

    Required Experience & Skills

    Technical Foundation (Mandatory)

    • Hands-on experience in software development earlier in career
    • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
    • Experience with Agile, Scrum, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices
    • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

    Delivery Leadership

    • Experience managing large delivery teams (50–300+ engineers preferred)
    • Experience handling multiple client accounts and delivery programs simultaneously
    • Proven track record of successful delivery execution and client satisfaction

    Business & Client Leadership

    • Strong client engagement and stakeholder management experience
    • Experience managing delivery P&L, margins, and operational metrics
    • Experience handling escalations and complex delivery environments

    Leadership & Organizational Skills

    • Strong people leadership and team development experience
    • Ability to scale delivery organizations and build delivery frameworks
    • Excellent communication, executive presence, and leadership skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working in IT services or consulting companies
    • Experience managing offshore, onsite, and hybrid delivery models
    • Experience with enterprise clients across industries
    • PMP, Agile, or relevant leadership certifications (preferred but not mandatory)
