The Web Application Security Tester sets security controls and design requirements during the software creation and development stage of the software lifecycle.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess the organization's software development process to identify vulnerabilities caused by weaknesses or flaws that could expose the firm's resources to a security breach.
Make recommendations to improve software security based on the OWASP Top 10 and knowledge of current and emerging threats.
Reviews software requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely feedback on security requirements.
Creates detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
Designs, develops, and executes automation scripts using open-source and commercial tools.
Identifies, records and tracks bugs, and ensures that these are documented thoroughly.
Performs thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
Prepares quality assurance and security action plans during new product development stage.
Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validation.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Programming, or a related field
Relevant experience in IT Security/Data protection, Systems Audit or IT Process Review and handling breaches/security incidents
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and fix security risks.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Good team working skills to develop security solutions in collaboration with other information technology professionals.
