Job Purpose:
Lead and oversee the day-to-day function of Underwriting unit and Special project/s assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Appraisal/Underwriting.
Handles approval of cases within approval authority and refers to reinsurer applications beyond local approval authority
BAU.
Responsible for the strategic direction of the company's underwriting policies and standards
Ensure appropriate underwriting standards are in place to ensure that mortality and morbidity results emerge as expected
Conducts case clinics with underwriters and participates in Underwriting
Reviews and determines changes to underwriting process, procedure and guidelines
Reviews, recommends and seeks approval for changes to medical/financial evidence
requirements and non-medical limits as considered necessary
Implement self-audit program for underwriters
Handles underwriting sessions and meetings with distributors
Ensures that commitment in the turn around time in application processing is achieved
Provides guidance to Client services unit, if necessary
Involved in the preparation of underwriting guidelines for products
Involved in the approval of rules and guidelines and implementation of client services
transaction that has underwriting risk
People Management.
Responsible for the development of the underwriter
Special Projects
Responsible for the effective implementation of VIP concierge not limitedto
Underwriting process.
SME for UnderwriteMe rules creation/changes/enhancement
Knowledge and Skills:
Education & Certification:
Must be a college graduate
Nursing graduate or graduate of other medical-related courses preferred.
Must have completed LOMA Level 1 Certification
With attendance in local underwriting seminars
