Job Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day planning in the implementation of loss control program to effectively reduce the frequency and severity of losses from fire and other unsafe act.
Major Job Function:
- Conducts surveys/inspection in selected electrical and mechanical equipment, machineries, installations and its environs to identify and evaluate areas of exposures to loss and determine exposure that will react to treatment by existing of available loss control techniques.
- Assists the area safety engineer/inspector/auditors in conducting monthly audits at various departments concerning on electrical and mechanical equipment, machineries, installations and its environs established on selected operations including operational instructions, area guidelines and maintenance instructions to ensure an effective implementation of the work program.
- Conducts investigation on equipment property damage incidents including heavy and light vehicles, electrical and mechanical equipment, machineries, installations and environs as well as provides recommendations and corrective measures.
- Formulates, prepares standard job procedures of selected critical areas and planned job inspection checklists concerning electrical and mechanical equipment, machineries, installations and environs.
- Facilitates MGB-DENR Engineers when conducting safety inspection of the newly installed or existing electrical equipment, installations in relation to the acquisition, renewal of permits to operate and issuance of certification from MGB-DENR.
- Gathers and facilitates submission of plans and other necessary requirements of proposed electrical and mechanical equipment, machineries, and installations to the Mines & Geo-Sciences Bureau of DENR for the acquisition of permit to operate and licenses.
- Facilitates new application and/or renewal of the Safety Engineer/Inspector Permits of the safety department's safety inspectors/engineers to MGB-DENR, as required/scheduled.
- Provides appropriate recommendation/information to department on loss control matters and safety of electrical and mechanical equipment, machineries and installations.
- Prepares monthly equipment/property damage and losses statistical reports for information to management and MGB-DENR.
Job Qualification:
- Must be a bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- With at least 3 years experience as a Safety Officer
- Must have safety trainings certificates
