- Develop and maintain complex, feature-rich web services and applications with different technologies and in accordance with the agreed coding standards and software development best practices and concepts (i.e., SOLID & DRY)
- Develop solutions based upon architectural concepts and in compliance with organisational information security policies
- Carry out solutions review and code review, develop expertise as an SME of one of Cambridge's systems, and get familiarity with the tools that the teams are using (i.e., deployment tool, issue tracking software, etc.)
- Work within a cross-functional and self-managing Agile team which demonstrates ownership of one's work, resolves issues and escalates as appropriate, contributes to the planning whether it may be technical process improvements or estimations of tasks, and lastly, delivers tasks within the agreed timetables and quality
- Manage personal development proactively by demonstrating the willingness to learn new skills and technologies, keeping abreast of latest technology developments and trends, using CPD tools that are available to our organisation, and working with their line manager to identify own training needs and line reports'
- Directsand develops the performance of the team in line with Cambridge's company values and leadership competencies
- Expertise in coding, design, and object-oriented software development skills (GO Lang, Typescript, React, NodeJS, tslint / IntelliJ liniting, Prittier, Docker, Terraform)Demonstrable capability to coach, inspire, and empower members of the group
- Hands on experience in Go Lang is desirable and would be a priority
- Advance understanding of software development and the elements of SDLC in a commercial environment
- Proficiency in application integrations and Service Oriented Architectures and in leveraging on AWS (S3, RDS - Postgres, OpenSearch, ECS, Fargate, ElastiCache, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager)

Your responsibilities as a Lead Software Engineer:
Working under the supervision of the Software Development Team Lead/Head of Software Development, you will lead a new in-house development team focused on delivering the technical development for one of our digital educational products and take direction from the Lead Solutions Architect to deliver one of Cambridge's digital educational products utilising the agreed infrastructure, architecture, and tooling.
You will be an ideal candidate if you are passionate in driving a team either by influence or by having direct line reports. Having an evident capability to lead a team that utilizes Continuous Integration & Deployment and a team that creates unit tests within the selected development framework would also be highly desirable.
If you have a good technical degree or equivalent experience and a firm grasp on the foundational concepts of software engineering (i.e., design analysis and algorithms, OOP, SOA), and if you enjoy working in a fast-based environment and able to work with different stakeholders in a problem-solving capacity, then this is role is for you.
