    We are recruiting for a Site Reliability Engineer who will be part of our Application Engineer Team. This team is responsible for supporting application systems for Cambridge University Press and Assessment, running Linux and Windows Operating Systems for the web tier.

    You will have the opportunity to extensively learn about the exam application systems for Cambridge University Press and Assessment, which includes running Linux and Windows Operating Systems for the web tier.     Your responsibilities as a Site Reliability Engineer:

    As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will oversee the pipelines, reliability, and availability of the projects along with the Application Engineer Team.

    Additionally, you will be expected to:

    • Build and maintain pipelines that focus on rapid software delivery and site reliability, automate as many processes as possible, and create tools to enable rapid provisioning of resources (including environments) while working closely with application support groups comprised of members of the Solutions Architect, Development teams, and QA teams, all while adhering to core SRE and DevOps principles.
    • Work on developing and maturing the SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) function within Exam Technology. Actively engage with the latest and ongoing developments within the DevOps/SRE community, and consistently strive to incorporate improvements into our working practices.
    • Identify and resolve technical issues, and implementing automation opportunities. Take ownership in creating and implementing monitoring procedures, tools, and standards to ensure system and application security.
    • Build and maintain effective relationships and lines of communication within and with other teams, third party suppliers and the Business Streams to facilitate effective delivery.

    You will be an ideal candidate if you have experience with demonstrating a high-performance standard in output quality, team communication, and customer-focus and if you have excellent time management skills and knowledge on Security principles and practice. Being able to adapt to work pattern changes, including holiday and weekend work, specifically with seasonally driven business demand, would also be highly regarded.

    If you have at least 3 years' relevant work experience, a strong experience in AWS Cloud Engineering, Architecture or Infrastructure, and a competent extensive background with DevOps delivery model for Infrastructure, then this role is for you.

    In addition, experience, knowledge, or expertise in the following are essential:

    • Experience in troubleshooting cloud environments - finding and fixing critical production issues.
    • Knowledge of version control systems like GIT.
    • Knowledge of Caching Services management & configuration management tools.
    • Knowledge of cloud computing infrastructure, especially using Amazon Web Services (Fargate, Route53, Cloudwatch, API gateway, Lamdba, AWS CodePipeline/CloudFormation, AWS databases, Networking etc).
    • Experience in Bash, Java or Python.
