Job Summary:
The IT Cybersecurity Support Specialist acts as the first-level contact for IT security-related issues and plays a key role in ensuring system and data protection. This position supports access management, threat monitoring, incident response, and user education. The role also contributes to ongoing cybersecurity initiatives, system monitoring, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle provisioning and deprovisioning of user access across systems (e.g., ERP, email, directories).
- Monitor and address endpoint security issues, including antivirus status and updates.
- Draft and distribute cybersecurity advisories and alerts to end-users.
- Review and respond to reported phishing attempts, spam, and suspicious emails.
- Manage and resolve cybersecurity-related service tickets in coordination with IT teams.
- Perform data extraction and generate regular cybersecurity reports.
- Create and analyze phishing simulation results and month-end summaries.
- Conduct proactive monitoring of system logs, alerts, and security events to detect potential incidents.
- Support vulnerability scans for systems, applications, and networks.
- Assist with internal cybersecurity audits, compliance efforts, and special projects.
- Stay informed on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and tools.
- Perform threat intelligence tasks to identify and assess new cyber risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (preferred).
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in IT support or cybersecurity-related functions.
- Solid understanding of networking principles, operating systems, and basic security frameworks.
- Proficient in analyzing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network security issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly.
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to provide responsive support.
- Capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with IT service management tools and incident/change management practices is an advantage.
