    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    IT Software Management

    • Performs daily and long-term operational and strategic management of hardware and software
    • Plans, monitors, and records software license to make sure they complied with vendor contracts in different software tools
    • Applies a continuous improvement approach in enhancing the strategies employed in technology spending, as well as in tracking company assets within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) throughout their lifecycle
    • Ensures effective management of the CMDB and that the content contained is accurate
    • Provides KPI/Metric information and standardized reporting on a scheduled basis together with unscheduled reporting demanded by management
    • Defines and enhances scheme for software-related assets, including versioning and dependencies in the asset management tools, attributes, the Contract management library, and the CMDB
    • Manages inventory of all IT assets, including dependencies and attributes), making sure that modifications, withdrawals, and additions of existing ones are correctly recorded by the teams in charge in the tools to ensure that the vendor contracts are complied with
    • Manages lifecycle of software models in the Data Manipulation Language (DML) right from their introduction to their retirement
    • Generates and distributes various reports, including compliance reports on current software assets and their status
    • Performs relevant trend analyses
    • Performs verification and audit of Data Manipulation Language (DML) and CMDB content verify software assets with license contracts, and initiate corrective actions and track them
    • Manages activities concerning license compliance audits to be able to answer to requests from software editors effectively
    • Ensures process efficiency by implementing the key performance indicators suggest improvements to the process continuously
    • Designs processes relating to software and hardware asset management, execute and enhance them
    • Establishes and maintains documentation of procedures, processes, and reports concerning asset and configuration management
    • Takes part in other ITSM processes, or as required perform as a back up to maintain operational activities
    • Creates and executes governance and strategic asset management function
    • Collaborates with infrastructure teams to determine trends in asset performance
    • Performs research on industry best practice and incorporate it with organizational practices
    • Establishes and maintains hardware and software maintenance database.

    Information Security

    • Analyzes existing security systems and make recommendations for changes or improvements
    • Prepares reports and action plans in the event that a security breech does occur
    • Organizes and conducts tests and 'ethical hacks' of the existing security architecture
    • Monitors the network and provide early warning of abnormalities or problems
    • Upgrades systems regularly to remain competitive in the field of security
    • Communicates the system status and keep users informed of downtime or changes to the system
    • Keeps technical knowledge current through continuing education
    • Provides system updates and write code fixes

    IT Planning

    . Identifies requirements based on the strategic objectives declared by top management and in coordination with the different sections/departments of the business

    . Evaluates business processes & computerized systems directly affected by top management direction

    . Evaluates software requirements against existing resources/ capabilities

    . Recommends software enhancements, system development, and additional process enhancements based on the resource evaluation results

    . Conducts research and analysis of information technology trends in order to provide business relevant recommendations.

    . Monitors the schedule of capital acquisition of IT related software applications and the corresponding fixed operating expenses.

    Software Maintenance

    . Performs continuous system evaluation and maintenance by ensuring that all software related issues and corresponding resolutions are properly documented.

    . Serves as first level support for all IT application system related issues and enhancements:

    . Serves as first line of support tasked to liaise between the third party subscribed support team and GSMI end users.

    Third-party support management.

    • Supervises the performance of Third-Party Applications/Software Support Team.
    • Coordinates technical issues with the third party software, hardware and support service provider to ensure immediate resolution.
    • Monitors the regular 'Business as Usual (BAU)' support and Resolution Management of Issues of the Third-Party Network Support Team.

    . Monitors and coordinates the Business-as-Usual Maintenance Activities for IT Systems and Applications to ensure integrity of information.

    . Monitors the required regular backup of information and the required data storage capacity.

    . Ensures that the appropriate documentation requirements are maintained for all IT related systems including the hardware, software and license components

    . Monitors Inventory Management of all IT related systems including the hardware, software and license components

    Policy Setting and Information System Security and Control

    . Recommends policies, guidelines and procedures on IT related issues to support and comply to the company and corporate directives and policies

    . Monitors the acquisition of all software applications from valuation, endorsement, approval, monitoring and maintenance.

    . Monitors user access level and set software controls to maintain company information confidentiality and ensure that only authorized user can access existing and new systems.

    Knowledge Enhancement

    . Engages in continuing education and self-study by constantly reading IT publications and literatures and IT researches to ensure that technical knowledge is constantly updated on the latest technology developments and trends.

    . Ensures proper maintenance of software documentation library, installation disks, and other system development documentation for easy reference and fast retrieval of information.

    . Develops and maintains contact with people with expertise in information technology and systems fields both in SMC and outside SMC to increase our network of consultation channels.
