    Company Description

    iHorizon is a modern Irish accounting and tax practice specialising in SMEs, sole traders, and owner-managed businesses. We operate a fixed-fee, process-driven model using cloud accounting systems to deliver high-quality compliance and practical, commercially focused advice.

    We make extensive use of modern accounting and practice management applications, including Xero, Hubdoc/Dext, and KarbonHQ, and we value professionals who enjoy working in a structured, tech-enabled environment. As the firm grows, we are building a senior leadership layer to support scale, quality, and an excellent client experience.

    Role Description

    This is a full-time remote role for an Accounting Manager with strong Irish practice experience. The role is hands-on and involves reviewing and signing off on accounts and tax work, managing workflow and staff, and acting as a senior point of contact for clients.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and review work prepared by junior and mid-level staff
    • Take ownership of accounting delivery for assigned client portfolios
    • Handle complex client queries independently
    • Act as primary point of contact for a portfolio of key clients
    • Ensure deadlines, quality standards, and internal processes are met
    • Support the director in reducing day-to-day involvement in accounting delivery
    • Contribute to workflow improvements and firm scalability.

    Review and sign off on:

    • Monthly and annual accounts (sole traders & limited companies)
    • Management accounts
    • VAT returns (Irish & EU RCB where relevant)
    • Capital Gains Tax computations
    • Form 11s and CT1s

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Irish-trained and Irish exam-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CPA)
    • Significant experience working in Irish practice
    • Strong background in accounts preparation, review, and sign-off
    • Advanced working knowledge of Xero and Hubdoc / Dext
    • Experience managing or reviewing work prepared by others
    • Comfortable working in a highly systemised, app-driven environment (e.g. KarbonHQ)
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines independently
    • Confident communicator with clients and internal teams
