    Job Responsibilities:
    • Scheduling and directing activities to resolve hardware and software problems, including the provision of a help desk, in a timely and accurate manner in support of Service Level Agreements.
    • Develop automation strategies to streamline the day-to-day running of the IT Operations.
    • Monitor the Enterprise monitoring systems to readily detect, troubleshoot, and escalate alerts for all Data Center applications, infrastructure, and network.
    • Troubleshoot processing errors and alerts, taking corrective action or escalating to support personnel as required
    • Accurately record all processing exceptions and service disruptions in the problem-tracking system
    • Performs and monitors file transfers
    • Dispatch vendors/service personnel in the event of equipment or circuit failure
    • Review all open problem tickets and system monitoring alerts, performing follow-up with escalation contacts to obtain resolutions
    • Prepare shift reports and conduct turnover between shifts
    • Manages and Leads Major Incidents except for Application Issues
    • Acts as an Assistant Team Leader in the absence of the IT Ops Management.
    • Manages the System Operator Ticket Queue
    • VIP and Escalations Support
    • Manages all Incident Reports from Major Incidents
    • 4-year degree in Information Systems, IT, or Computer Science preferred or equivalent experience.
    • Knowledge of Personal computers and Microsoft products
    • Working knowledge of operating system commands, preferably AIX and Windows
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • ITIL Foundation trained and/or certified is an advantage.
    • Trained or Certified in Problem Analysis (Kepner Tregoe, Problem Analysis, Management, etc.)
    • Demonstrated ability to comprehensively understand basic network architecture, including IP addressing, virtualization of file servers, physical file servers, various server application interfaces, network security requirements, firewalls, switches, etc.
    • Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • Ability to independently utilize and perform routine maintenance on a wide variety of equipment in the computer room environment.
    • Ability to assume lead responsibility during problem situations and exercise problem determination and resolution skills to make logical and sound decisions based on knowledge and prior experience. Resolves most problems with minimal assistance.
    • Provides input to support constructing and maintaining operational logs and documentation.
    • Refined problem determination, resolution skills, and decision-making ability are a definite requirement for this position.
    • Ability to work under strict deadline constraints with ease, accuracy and to adapt to change readily.
    • Effective interpersonal relationship skills and effective communication skills.
    • Demonstrated effective organizational skills in the work environment.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
    • Ability to complete routine reports and effectively compose detailed correspondence.
    • Ability to speak effectively one-on-one.

    Requirements

    • At least two (2) years of experience as a Systems Operator in a multi-system computer facility is preferred.
    • Experience operating UNIX, Windows, scheduling applications
    • Experience in monitoring tools such as SCOM, PRTG, Solarwinds, Dyna Trace, etc
