    The New Venture Principal Head will be in charge of gathering, developing, and finding ideas for decentralized energy. You will also work with venture builders to help them improve their concepts. The New Venture Principal Head must be able to challenge the builders to improve their concepts to be the greatest ones possible while assisting them in developing their own ideas. Additionally, it entails acting as a venture builder as necessary.

    The hired candidate is also expected to develop his or her own suggestions for enhancing the venture studio. Decentralized energy has many unknowns and variables, and we not only need but also desire smart people who can assist us in preparing for the future now.

    Responsibilities:

    Operational

    • Mentor and coach builders to deliver high impact venturing
    • Support the New Venture investment committee at the conclusion of the Build Stage
    • Support builders, founder, Advisor, and Partners through initial phases of the project
    • Control the execution of multiple concurrent projects to ensure that commitments are met within established scope, budget, schedule and timeline

    Innovation Strategy and Market Research

    • Uncover and generate insights into how macro trends and shifts in the competitive landscape influence the venture opportunities in the energy sector
    • Evaluate how business model shifts can be applied to create and capture new value
    • Connect and leverage Aboitiz Power Corporation's Core assets to create sustainable competitive advantage for the potential ventures
    • Facilitate and contribute in the ideation and discovery of opportunities and potential ventures
    • Size up the market opportunity and build the business case of potential ventures

    Others

    • Assumes Overall Enterprise Accountability for Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety events/incidents or potential events.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Management, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
    • Previous experience working in venture capital assessing business plans and working with start-ups and entrepreneurs; or technical startup experience in a product or building capacity.
    • Strong due diligence skills including market research, competitive market mapping, trend analysis and TAM/SAM/SOM analysis.
    • Growth and technical startup mindset. This may include willingness to try and fail but try again, biased to action, capable of handling ambiguity, scrappy, flexible and comfortable being outside of one's comfort zone, able to learn from and incorporate feedback to enhance one's analytical and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong project management, communication, and relationship building skills
    • Able to work well with senior executives in a way that makes efficient use of their time
    • Knowledge of the startup ecosystem, including fundraising, marketing, and business development
