    Job Description

    The Operational Risk Management Lead, as part of the second line of defense, shall provide an independent oversight to the operational risk management activities of the Bank. He/She shall assist the Senior Management in meeting its responsibility in ensuring that the operational risk-taking activities of the Bank are aligned with the operational risk appetite and strategies as approved by the Board of Directors.
    • Mainly responsible (oversight function) for the risk management activity of the bank such as review and challenge, validation, monitoring and reporting of various operational risk policies (i.e. Outsourcing, Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Risk Incident Management)
    • Recommend appropriate operational risk appetite statements, indicators and thresholds to the Board of Directors (Board)
    • Provide sound advice to business units on operational risk management issues or topics
    • Drive risk management culture through training and awareness initiatives
    • Design and implement the Bank's Operational Risk policies, procedures and standards, including risk tools and systems
    • Steer discussions on risk management activities across the Bank such as New Product Approval, Outsourcing, Business Continuity Management (BCM), Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Risk Incident Management and other relevant processes (issue management, ERM, etc)
    • Monitor risks indicators such as KRIs, control testing results, incidents and gaps against limits/ thresholds, and provide the senior management an analysis or impact of the results
    • Perform risk assessment and gap analysis from regulatory developments or industry mandates, and communicate risk team's vision and objectives to various teams to drive the alignment of risk's policies or procedures
    • Prepare operational risk information/reports and analysis for escalation/presentation to the Board, Senior Management and other relevant committees or stakeholders
    • Manage audit/ regulatory reviews including coordination, communications, and required actions with internal auditors, external auditors, regulators and internal stakeholders as appropriate
    • Manage, guide, or develop operational risk team member/s on risk and related responsibilities under operational risk

    Requirements

    • Graduate of a 4-year bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Finance, Accountancy, Management, or related disciplines
    • With experience on managing operational risk in a bank setting, specifically in policy formulation and implementation of Operational Risk Management Framework and other related policies & procedures (e.g., new product approval, outsourcing, risk incident management, RCSA, BCM)
    • Possess solid understanding on banking-related applications and technologies in terms of products and supporting services, system and business operation procedures, risk management, regulatory compliance, etc.
    • Has strong knowledge of BSP regulations and other banking-related laws and regulations
    • Experience in people management
    • Problem solving skills and a positive constructive attitude are a must
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment
    • Proficiency in English written and verbal communication. Comfortable presenting to Senior Management team and/or Board.
