One of the most important and exciting chapters, Core Services is searching for a capable Storage and Backup Administrator or Architect who will be an asset to our digital journey.

    Vestas Digital Solutions is responsible for a wide range of activities all related to driving and promoting the digital agenda. The Datacenter & Cloud Engineering and Services team (DCES) team accelerates digital product development by providing a secure and enterprise-ready infrastructure on-prem and in the cloud.

    Responsibilities

    In your position as an Infrastructure Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to:

    • Manage Storage and Backup platforms in data centers and the cloud
    • Participate in 24/7 on-call support rotation with colleagues
    • Storage and Backup infrastructure (Storage appliances, SAN switches, VTL, Backup appliance, Agents, tools) upgrades hardware, firmware or software
    • Perform Full VM, VM file, and guest file level restore request
    • Participate in disaster recovery exercises, design and maintain disaster recovery plans
    • Demonstrate expertise in troubleshooting Storage, SAN, and Backup issues
    • Work with Architects, Subject Matter Experts, Solution Designers, and engineers
    • Work with Vendor and Customer during the hardware and performance issues
    • Capacity management, managing storage usage, and growth projections
    • Performance management, analyze and recommend performance improvement
    • Recommend permanent and temporary solutions and the next course of action to resolve problems and issues. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and document RCA-based corrective action
    • Develop and maintain documentation related to installation, administration, maintenance, processes, and resolutions

    Qualifications

    You have:

    • Solid experience with remote Storage and Backup operation in an on-premises data center, any knowledge about Azure and or the cloud is a benefit but not required
    • Solid experience in Storage solutions for both, on-premises data centers. e.g. HPE Alletra, Primera and StoreOnce, Dell Isilon, Qumulo
    • Solid experience in Backup solutions e.g., CommVault/Veeam/Rubrick
    • Our infrastructure is based on HPe Products, Qumulo, CommVault/Veeam/Rubrick, VMware, and Cisco platforms hence expert experience working with these is expected
    • Configure and manage Brocade/Cisco SAN switches
    • Expertise in general Operating System operation, Windows, Linux, etc. for physical and virtual workloads
    • Coding knowledge for the automation of infrastructure, including experience with:
      • PowerShell, Phyton, Terraform, Ansible etc
    • Experience working with large enterprise environments and governance models is beneficial
    • Experience in working with Service-now and Azure DevOps
    • Experience with Agile ways of working and experience with Microsoft Azure in a DevOps team structure
    • Experience in Cloud Technology primarily Azure

    Working in Data Center & Cloud, Engineering & Services naturally requires a solid technical understanding of IT infrastructures such as on-premise data center technologies as well as integrated hybrid solutions and platform services.
