    Job Title:
    Revenue Manager


    Job Summary:

    • To create and execute an effective Revenue Management strategy that results in significant and sustained Revenue growth.
    • To be responsible for providing relevant market research reports necessary for the proper evaluation of market performance both in terms of business type or segment contributions to total business.
    • To be responsible for the supervision of all activities pertaining to Revenue Management and Reservations Department in order to achieve the highest possible occupancy levels for the purpose of maximizing room revenues and profit

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Administration
    a. Produce a month, three-month forecast by market segment
    b. Shop competitors regularly for future strategy. Utilize available GDS and local/international website listings competition reports, RateView/Hotelligence.
    c. Ensure group rate guidelines are in place by market segment.
    d.

    Conduct weekly Revenue meeting with Yield committee which includes General Manager, Resident Manager, Director of Sales both Leisure and Corporate, Director of events (MICE), Reservations Manager, Front Office Manager and Financial Controller.

    e. Conduct weekly Group Review meeting with Room Sales and Events Team.
    f. Produce reports as outlined by management.
    g. Review with Director of Marketing and Director of Sales a quarterly account review for each Sales Manager, (Updated as and if required)
    h. Overseeing the Reservations Department, Monitoring Mystery calls results and recommend training or action plan to improve score if necessary
    i. To be involved in the Training issues / process of the Reservations Department


    • Rooms
    a. Oversee revenue management and distribution strategy of the hotel and manage day to day yield operations.
    b. Ensure effective pricing strategies are in place to reflect asset strength relative to the competition and specific market conditions.
    c. Compile Analysis Reports to analyze key drivers of market share performance and understand overall effectiveness of strategies.
    d. Closely monitor competitive pricing and understand impact of relative pricing decisions on property performance.
    e. Evaluate performance of distribution partners and contracted rates (OTA, FIT, tour operator, corporate, consortia, crew, groups, etc...).
    f. Provide weekly dynamic forecast of expected results, variances and budget comparisons.
    g. Analyze overall monthly hotel performance and provide summary report with recommendations to improve long term strategies
    h. Conduct quarterly property performance review and develop strategic and tactical action
    i. Develop overall pricing strategy to include all market segments and distribution channels.
    j. Provide guidance on corporate transient negotiated account pricing.
    k. Provide guidance on group availability and pricing. Ensure Group Sell Guidelines and Target Rates are updated on a regular basis.
    l. Group Business – Consult with Sales Managers on rate/inventory suitability of all potential group business. – Oversee the management of Group Block activity. Ensure that group cut-off dates, rooming lists, group block activity (i.e., pickup, wash) are being well managed
    m. Pro-actively identify and analyze business opportunities and make the appropriate business decisions e.g. comparing wedding business with a business meeting with rooms
    n.

    Pro-actively identify and analyze peak days and shoulder days talking into consideration past performance as well as new industry trends.

    Possible strategies include LOS restriction, price decisions (BAR and NLRA), room type yielding, oversell etc.

    Effectively manage inventory and pricing strategy on all distribution channels including Branded Web, 3rd Party Sites (OTAs), and Global Distribution Systems (GDS).

    p. Coordinate with Emarketing manager for optimizing opportunities for incremental revenue and market share growth.
    q. Ensure all related systems are configured correctly, validated and working to full capacity
    r. Regularly check the input and the quality of data in the system ie segmentation, package allocation
    s. Prepare outline for and support the annual revenue budget process.
    t. Direct all allocation of rooms
    u. Load rates and rate codes in all appropriate distribution channels for all segments


    • Restaurants, Bars and Events
    a. Analyze overall restaurants, bars and banquets segments monthly performance and provide recommendations to improve long term strategies.
    b. Coordinate with Emarketing manager for optimizing opportunities for incremental revenue in banquets
    c. Closely monitor competitive pricing and understand impact of relative pricing decisions on restaurant performance.
    d. Pro-actively identify and analyze business opportunities and make the appropriate business decisions.
    e. Make recommendations to optimize function space revenues.


    • Others
    a. Attend market research seminars / conference and deemed necessary by the General Manager
    b.

    Attend daily Revenue Meeting with General Manager / Resident Manager / Director of Marketing / Director of Sales / Front Office Manager.

    c. To supervise and review Reservations Department as requested and when necessary
    d. To chair weekly forecast meetings (revenue meeting)
    e. To assume other duties as requested by Management of Wharf Hotels Management
    f. To work the hours as requested by Management.
